What an event we had last Monday! If you did not play, you definitely missed out on a great time! The World’s Largest Golf Outing benefiting Fisher House is played at over 150 courses across the country with nearly 8,000 players supporting this amazing cause. Those that are not familiar with Fisher House, here is a link to their website https://www.fisherhouse.org/. This year 41 players helped to raise an estimated $2300 for the cause here at Broad Run. So many local business donated to make this an event a success. Restaurants included CJ Finz, Foster’s Grille, BJ’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Glory Day’s Centreville, Old Towne Sports Pub, Olive Garden, Subway and Starbuck’s (not really a restaurant). Target, Harris Teeter, Home Depot, Old Towne Man Cave, SportClips and Tiger Martial Arts also donated prizes for our raffle. Local golf courses that contributed were Bristow Manor, Eisenhower, Westfields, Old Hickory, 1757, Magnolia Green, Forest Green, Bull Run, General’s Ridge, Prince William and Lake Ridge. Please support our sponsors as much as you are able! The event included a beautiful rendition of our country’s National Anthem, cookout, an awesome raffle, and helicopter ball drop in which a player won a 50” television. The ball drop was amazing. I’ll post a video on here if I can figure out how to do it. I just wanted to take a moment to thank those that played in our event and contributed; and, thank you to those in our community that were kind enough to give to this great cause. And, of course, thank you to those that serve our country, past and present. Please in the future, support Fisher House, and like organizations, give what you can and play in our next year’s event! If you have any questions golf or Broad Run related, please email me at email@example.com. Thank you for taking the time.
